Serious issues in disabled girl transplant case
Tue Jan 17, 2012
Genenut, I can tell you care passionately about this case, but the article does not say that a family member has been found who is a match and has agreed to donate an organ. The mother claims she asked what would happen IF a family member agreed to donate a kidney.
Serious issues in disabled girl transplant case

This isn't about eugenics, it's a combination of a genuine need to triage a scarce resource (organs) and a doctor who seriously needs to work on his bedside manner. It's not like we can walk into the kidney store and order up a new one (or, in this case, a new one every decade or so).
Flier, displaced by obese seatmate, forced to stand
Wed Nov 23, 2011
A few things to point out, as someone who flies 120k miles or more a year. The aircraft on that route has a 3-3 configuration in coach. That means that there were 2 passengers inconvenienced by the large flyer in the middle seat.

Retailers tiptoe between Christmas, holidays
Mon Dec 1, 2008
As an interesting and moderately relevant side note... the Pilgrims did not celebrate Christmas (though they were unquestionably Christian) because they thought it was a pagan corruption of their values.
Flying traitors: Why air travel is un-American
Mon Oct 20, 2008
I partially agree with this article. Fliers, regardless of where they're sitting, should have access to water and clean bathrooms. They should be free to get up and move if they've been sitting for hours and if they have to be on the plane more than 5-6 hours, they should get some sort of food.
